Features and benefit

  • Reducing the diameter of the instrument from 26 Fr to merely 16 Fr decreases the cervical dilatation required thus reducing operating time and unnecessary tissue damage.
  • By reducing the diameter of the shaft, the risk of intra- and post-operative complications is minimized.
  • Using the 16 Fr-Miniresectoscope surgical treatment of the majority of intra-uterine pathologies, traditionally dealt with using the 26 or the office 5 Fr-instrument one, is readily performed.
  • The smaller diameter of the instrument offers to the surgeon more space enabling him/her to perform more manoeuvres than those available using the traditional resectoscope. A useful example is in surgical treatment of lesions situated in difficult positions.
  • Hysteroscopic surgeon, used to perform interventions with the classical 26 Fr resectoscope and traditional 5 Fr instruments in office setting, will not need to acquire new surgical techniques to use the new Miniresctoscope.
